Bradford White Defender Safety System

Published OnOctober 30th, 2008

Bradford White is a leader in the Heating Industry. They have a superior line of Water Heater products. One of their premier heaters is the Defender Safety System. The benefits of the Bradford White Defender System are that it has the ability to uphold the efficiency of the unit as well as provide a long water heater life. This unit has a low NOx Emissions for health and safety reasons.

The difference in the way these water heaters are installed is through a very basic in the wall installation. It can either be installed horizontally or vertically through the nearest outside wall. A professional should do installation and if you have any safety questions, you should always ask.

The Defender Safety System has some great features that other water heaters do not. The TTWI system has an advanced SceenLok Technology on the Flame Arrestor. The unit comes with a Flammable Vapor Sensor and a Sight Window for easy service and maintenance. The water heater would not be complete without a blower motor and a power vented water heater.

With energy costs going up and down, more and more homeowners are looking to save money any way they can. It is always smart to shop around when buying a boiler or water heater. Price is also a priority when it comes to buying a unit. But the second highest factor that goes into buying a water heater is the cost of operating that unit.

Some of the features that come standard on the Defender Safety System, Model TTW1 are the Electronic Gas Control Valve, the T&P Relief Valve and a Brass Drain Valve. Some other safety features are both the Horizontal and Vertical Venting System; the lining of the water heater is made from the quality material called Vitraglas. The water heater comes with a factory installed Dielectric Waterway Fitting and a factory installed Hydrojet Total Performance System.

Bradford White’s own ScreenLok Technology was designed and created just for the company. This system is constructed with a 304L alloy stainless steel and is designed and created with just about 18.000 geometrically shaped louvers. The louvers can increase the pace of the air that comes into the system.  If something goes wrong like flammable vapors get into the system and are ignited, what happens is the system will stop any flames from getting into the chamber. This is a great safety feature to have

The water heater is protected with a 1″ foam Insulation made with a non-CFC foam. This type of insulation also helps with keep up the high efficiency level for the water heater as well as help keep the heating costs low.

There are 3 different models in the Defender Safety System, the Model M-1-TW-40S6FBN, the Model M-1-TW-50SFBN and Model M-TW-1-60T6FBN. For more information you can look on the Bradford White website.

If you are in the market for a new water heater for your heating system then you should consider using Bradford White Defender Safety System. You will save money and you will also have peace of mind. This System is one of the safest systems on the market. All of these units are assembled and fully tested before they get shipped out to anyone. You can look up your local distributor on the Bradford White website.

One Response to “Bradford White Defender Safety System”

  1. Lynda Cole Says:

I have a Bradford White Model #M250T605 1NCWW. When I left home 2 wks ago, I turned the circuit breaker off to the water heater. I had a water softener man come in while I was gone, but now that I am home, the hot water does not flow to the sinks, tubs, etc, and the cold water is fine. I release the pressure, dried out the water in the pan under (from the water softener.) Is there a sensor device which needs to be reset? Thanks,
